Final Post: 2, 1, 0 - BLAST OFF!!

Well, I tried, but I did not end up getting the posts that I wanted to finish finished. Well, really there was only one that I didn't finish, and that was the NCAA Baseball tourny. But, I haven't even started looking at those pictures yet, so I don't think I will end up posting that until the end of the summer.

Anyway, this is the last post that I will be doing on here. But it is not the last post; in fact I will have another post about what I am currently working on up on my new blog later today (and by later I mean like probably 9/10 pm-ish). I have spent the last week (and actually this week I am working on it as well) doing an unofficial ad campaign for a church mission project that I am part of every summer. To skip giving out too many details and because I am going to have all the information on the later post, I will just say that the name of the project is Salkehatchie Summer Service. For those of you who don't know what it means google it, but for those of you who do know, good for you.

I guess this will be the last time I sign my name here, but as I have said it is not the end of the blog; the blog is actually moving to here (you should bookmark the new site) and as I have been for a few months, our facebook page is here.

So thanks for everyone who has made it with me this far, and I hope that you will stick around to see what else I have in store over the next few years.

T-Minus 3: Brother Micah

So, you know those "preachers" who go around and spread the word of Jesus by telling everyone they see that they are going to hell? Yea, well, Brother Micah is such a guy, and he came to Clemson this past spring.

Needless to say, I could go on for hours about all the things he does that I think are wrong and how he should be punished, as a person and as a religious studies major looking to get a Ph.D. in theological studies, but he is a person too, and so I will settle for just making fun of him. (;p)

Now, there are a lot of things that he did, and most all were offensive. His main problem was misquoting the Bible to make his own uses of them and tell people that they were going to hell.

I know that people get mad when I get all "logical" but I feel like I also have to say that he used horrible arguments and circular logic. Regardless of what he is saying, when he says it and tries to argue it with bad logic, I can't resist saying something. And say something I did lol.

I won't go into all the detail, but I got him by using some old school, Old Testament, knowledge on him, and the crowd broke out into applause and cheering.

I do hope that he comes back next year though, because he was the best entertainment we have had on campus in a long time. And he drew quite a crowd.

So, there may not be much to say about him, but he did make the front page of our last issue of the paper this past year. So I guess that is one win for him lol.

I am sorry if these posts feel dry and rushed, but like I said, I am a little rushed just cleaning out and posting things that should have been up a while ago haha.

So, until tomorrow, the last day...

T-Minus 4: Never Leave Your Camera in the Car

Yea, well, it isn't what it sounds like, my camera didn't get stolen...worse actually - I missed a chance to shoot some lightning. ><

I have been helping out at Vacation Bible School this week, and I have been taking pictures of course. So, each day I would just bring my memory card inside to edit the pictures and leave my camera in the car. Weel, last night it happened - we had a thunderstorm. I do have more than one camera of course, but the camera/lens I really wanted to use for lightning (and the tripod, which is kinda important) was located in my car. So there I was at 1:30AM on the back porch with rain pouring down, using my 50D with the 60mm lens, sitting on top of my 16-35mm 2.8L as an ghetto-fied tripod. It was quite a sight. However, I must say that it was worth it, for I got my first 2 shots of lightning!

Behold!

On a related note, there was a storm two nights ago as well, and while I couldn't get any lightning (the storm was too far off) I did get some cool cloud pictures. Here is my favorite, followed by an updated version of our old photoshopped friend from a post a while back.

Ever since I did the original version (here) I have wanted to make a version with the moon. I used the thunder clouds from the storm a few nights ago, and I think that the finished version turned out very nicely.

So, with only 1 day and three posts to go, I will probably have at least one, if not two more up later tonight.

Until then,

T-Minus 5: Family Trip to the Mountains

So, I have been realizing that I have 5 more posts to put up, and 2 days to do so. I have work to do. For this quick post I am going to put up some photos from my recent trip to the mountains, which I must say, was pretty fun.

I had never ridden a jetsky before, but that was probably the best part of the trip for me.

(I will have to confess that I did fall off the jet ski. But it was not because I was going to fast and trying to show off...actually I was sitting still, and the thing just started to tip over. I must say it was quite embarrassing. )

It was fun to see my dad water ski after 20 some odd years of not skiing, but I have to say that he was pretty good for not having been on skis for 20 years.

I am not really all into nature and the mountains, but it was pretty...well, pretty. Here are some of the pictures I got of the mountains.

So, just 4 more posts to go. Hopefully I can get those in during the next two days.

Hope you enjoyed,

T-Minus 6: IHSA

So, I have not posted in a while, and I have less than a week to put up 5 more posts and finalize the blog.

Where do I begin?

Well, I think that I want to start by wrapping up some more old photos. This post is going to be about IHSA, the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.

So, this past spring, I had the chance to shoot at the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association's National Championships in Tenn. It was a fun time, but also challenging as I had never done anything like that before. I don't know if I will be going again or not, but I just wanted to share a few pictures from my trip that I liked.

This first photo is of the 2 people that were responsible for me being there that weekend; they both have very hard to spell last names, and I can't spell very well anyway, so I will just refer to them as Ann and Bob, what I called them the whole weekend.

Ann is the head coach of the Middle Tenn State Univ. Equestrian Team, the hosting school, and Bob is the founder of IHSA. Both are very powerful players in the world of IHSA, and both seem to like me, so that is good haha.

I am not going to comment on any other photos, 1 cause I am about to leave to go somewhere, but 2 because they are pretty self explanatory lol. Enjoy, :)

T-Minus 7: A Normal Day at the House

So, going through my back logged photos and I found some pictures that I took when I first got my 5D. I was just playing around with some photos, and trying to take pictures of my dogs. Lately they have been getting along a lot better but Button (the new one) is really playful, and likes to mess with Buddy. One of her favorite things to do is to attack Buddy's feet, and they end up fighting, but they both like it.

Cleaning out my Backlogs...

Well hello from the mountains!

It has been a good couple of days up here in the mountains of Clayton, GA but it has not been just laying around doing nothing. In between eating, cooking, boating, and antiquing I have been going through all of my backlogged photos and folders getting photos cleaned out and getting my business files in a row. I am trying to prepare to transition; really dedicating myself to being a "Pro" photographer and not just an enthusiast.

So, this means a few things: (two in particular)
1. I am getting more serious about photography; learning more about lighting and photo theory, and spending more time thinking about upcoming shoots, and best of all - making money!
2. I am shutting down the blog.

Yes, that is right, I am stopping Project365 {Variation: Orange Pride}
It has not been a year since I started this blog, but I think that I have grown a lot as a person and a photographer in my first year at school. So, I am changing the focus of my blog. Yes, I am keeping a blog, but changing the name and focus. I want the blog to mainly focus on things that I do with photos, which is mainly what it is now, but I feel that it needs to fit more with my website than it does. I think that the URL is too personal and too detached from my business and photos so I am changing the name, and the look (and I will be getting a new web address for the blog.) As far as I know I will continue to use blogger, but that might change too - I will keep y'all updated of course.)

So, since this blog is shutting down, there will be a limited number of posts left. And, for y'all's knowledge, here are the posts:

1. Cleaning the Back-Logs (many old photos that I haven't put up yet - this will probably be 2 posts)
2. NCAA Baseball Clemson Regional Tournament
3. Brother Micah
4. IHSA
5. UDS Spring Recital
6. Family Trip to the Mountains

I don't know what order these are going to be put up in, but they will be put up soon. I plan to have the new blog up first of next month, so I have some work to do for sure.

So, I just wanted to update everyone on what I was thinking about, and put up a post cause I hadn't written in a while.
